We present the tenth issue of the literary magazine “Radar” published by the Villa Decius Association, drawing attention to the specificity of the magazine – openness to various forms of writing and dialogue between the literatures of different countries. The publication features texts by Ksenia Kharchenko, Viktor Marcinovich and Przemyslaw Czaplinski, among others. Moreover, for the first time, texts of Belarusian literature have been included in “Radar”.

The publication “The Power of the Powerless Revisited” is a documentation of the International Conference “The Power of the Powerless Revisited” which took place on October 23-24, 2014, and was a continuation of meetings held for years at Villa Decius dedicated to the idea of freedom. Participants in the conference included: Adam Reichardt, Bogdan Klich, Bogusław Sonik, Charles F. Doran, Danuta Glondys, Jan Lityński, Kareem Amer, Krzysztof Bobiński, László Rajk, Lavon Barshcheuski, Magda Vášár yová, Marcin Kędzierski, Michal Vašečka, Rüstem Ablâtif, Samuel Abrahám, Wojciech Przybylski, Wolfgang Eichwede and others.
This publication is the culmination of the SAGA creativity workshops for the elderly held at Villa Decius in 2014. It contains the texts awarded and honored in the literary contest entitled “Saga – my Poland” and a selection of works created during the workshop at Villa Decius, which was conducted by Katarzyna Kubisiowska and Michał Olszewski. The authors of all texts are people over 55 years of age.
“Double Worlds” is an interview by Małgorzata Nocuń with Lawon Barszczeuski – a 2014 grantee of the City of Kraków under the ICORN International Cities of Refuge Network program. In 2011. Krakow was the first city from Central and Eastern Europe to join the Network under Resolution No. XVI/171/11 of the Krakow City Council of May 25, 2011. Since then, it has hosted three writers as part of residency programs: Maria Amelie – proper name Madina Salamova (North Ossetia / today in Norway), Kareem Amer (Egypt / today in Norway), Mostafa Zamaniniya (Iran). In 2014, a residency stay within the ICORN network was awarded to Belarusian writer, poet, translator and human rights activist Lavon Barshcheuski.
We present the ninth issue of the literary magazine “Radar” published by the Villa Decius Association. The premiere took place in Lviv during the 20th Publishers’ Forum (September 10-15, 2013). In the latest issue, among others: the text “Felix Austria” by Sofija Andrukhovych about the search for the Galician spirit in the scenery of Nowa Huta; Ziemowit Szczerek’s reportage entitled “Felix Austria. “Vacation in the Apocalypse”; a nostalgic story by Vasyl Machno about “a land where seven languages were spoken, and chickens, though they did not fly, spoke at least three.”
