The first edition of the narrative game scriptwriting workshop “Solidarity: Women in Opposition” behind us. During classes conducted by experts from the Krakow Technology Park, participants discovered the potential of narrative game as an educational tool and created their own game prototypes inspired by the biographies of activists associated with Solidarity. The aim of the workshops was to break the conventional historical discourse based on the male perspective and to gain a deeper understanding of the dilemmas faced by women involved in the opposition movement. A narrative game that allows you to play the role of heroines inspired by Solidarity activists, particularly favors a deeper understanding of their situation and choices. The effects of the workshops will soon be available in the Polish-language publication WIRE. Game prototypes created during the workshops will be made available under an open license. We will soon invite you to test them. We invite you to follow our news and social media.
We would like to thank the Participants for their presence, creativity and commitment and our Partners: dr hab. Barbara Klich-Kluczewska, Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University, Krakow Technology Park and Digital Dragons – for fruitful cooperation.
We would like to thank European Solidarity Centre and Ośrodek KARTA for providing access to materials from their archives.
The workshop was organised as part of the WIRE project funded by the EU under the CERV programme.
Below you will find photos from the first edition of workshop.
