The Villa Decius Association invites nominations for the 22nd edition of the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Polish Award, which honors individuals and non-governmental organizations for their efforts to promote peaceful coexistence and cooperation among societies, religions, and cultures.
The call for submissions is open until June 16 (12:00 pm Polish time), 2025.
Nominations are accepted in two categories:

Non-governmental organization (NGO)
Candidates may come from Poland or abroad.
The Award Committee includes representatives of the President of the Republic of Poland, the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, embassies and consulates supporting human rights initiatives of the Association, as well as the founders and initiators of the Award – the ZNAK Foundation and the Willa Decjusz Association. Since 2020, the Mayor of Krakow has also been a member of the Committee.
Past laureates include Tadeusz Mazowiecki, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Sergei Kovalev, Szewach Weiss, Pietro Bartolo, Tamila Tasheva, and the late Paweł Adamowicz.
