The 2 years long WIRE project is addressed to historians, educators and students of human sciences. The main goal of the project is a rising awareness of the role of women in antitotalitarian resistance movements in Europe in different historical periods. WIRE aims, on the one hand, to focus on women’s experiences, very often unsaid in the conventional historical discourse, on the other hand to create innovative educational methods and tools, using the potential of new technologies and historical sites.
Project activities include:
– female perspective on the history
– reaserch activities in an international group of students
– workshops led by appreciated researchers
– educational trips to: Italy, Spain and Greece
– creation of a network of future historical educators
After the Kick-off Meeting part, a lecture given by dr hab. Barbara Klich-Kluczewska is planned. The lecture will be dedicated to the presence of female biographies in the Collective Memory of „Solidarność”.
Dr hab. Barbara Klich-Kluczewska, prof. UJ the history of women and the gender history, the history of the sexuality and corporality and the socio-cultural history of Poland in the 20th century. She is the author a.o of the publications: Family, Taboo and Communism in Poland, 1956-1989 and 1945–1989: Nowoczesność – emancypacja – komunizm.
