We are pleased to introduce participants of the Arts in Exile residency!

We are excited to present the profiles of the artists who will be taking part in the Arts in Exile residency program.

BUTRINT PASHA

Kosovar director and playwright, born in 1992. He studied in Academy of Arts in Pristina, in module for Theatre Directing. He has directed various shows that are mainly focused mostly on social, family and sensitive topics. He works in civil rights fields, as an activist for human rights and marginalized groups, participating through icebreaking programs. Has won the Special Prize in FTF festival 2023, for his show called ‘’Sober’’. He has directed shows with the concept of “In yer face theater”, where women are often the protagonists of his shows.

During the period when he was working in the theater, he was involved in translations of various works from English  : Bull” by Mike Bartlett (selection in EURODRAM 2023), and also works as a playwright: “Ping Pong & Love” (2023), and “Red light on Sunday”(2023). He is currently working in his first novel “The Confused Schoolboy” (his childhood war time stories).

 

 

 

ONDISO MADETE

Multi-disciplinary artist from Kenya based in Finland. With storytelling at the centre of her artistic explorations, Ondi uses music, written and spoken word, dance, film, theatre and conceptual art to express themes of loss, connection, love and identity.

 

 

 

 

REDINA QOSE

Born in 1996 in Patos, Albania, is currently living and working in Tirana. She earned her degree in Multimedia from the University of Arts in Tirana in 2019. Her artistic practice spans across various mediums, in visual and conceptual art, such as photography, video art, performance, and audio-visual installation, reflecting on thought-provoking narratives. Her work explores themes like migration, beliefs, the complexities of human relations, and societal issues. In her practice she reflects also on generational trauma, and the enduring impact of historical and social contexts on Albanian contemporary realities.
