The project places the role of women in resistance movements against broadly understood totalitarian regimes in the center of attention. Project participants will analyze the experiences of women both as victims of totalitarian systems and as active oppositionists.
The main goal of WIRE is to promote a change in the conventional, male-dominated way of thinking about and teaching history.
During the project activities, the involved students will develop innovative methods and educational tools tailored to the needs of the modern recipient, such as educational paths, podcasts, scenarios for narrative games or a digital repository of biographies. Joint travels and exchange of experiences of the project participants will allow the creation of an international network of students, educators and history researchers as people who have a significant impact on shaping public opinion. They conduct research, documentation, commemoration and education activities on a daily basis.
The project is financed by the EU under the CERV programme.
