SUMO project – let’s start!

The aim of the SUMO: Scaling-up Multiculturally-oriented Organizations project is to strengthen competences and improve knowledge and the ability to actively participate in the processes of creating local policy and public services by representatives of ethnic and national minorities in Krakow. Thanks to the sector meetings, anti-discrimination workshops and trainings and the developed strategic policy paper, the process of empowerment and taking into account the needs and voice of representatives of groups at risk of exclusion and marginalization in Krakow’s public life will be strengthened.

The program will be implemented in Krakow with the participation of the local multicultural community, in particular ready-made groups and activists interested in formalizing their activities as non-governmental organizations.

It is our response to the difficult situation of the democratic opposition in Belarus and the deepening crisis of democratic values and civil liberties in that country. Bearing in mind the figures and efforts of Polish artists in exile, we invite Belarusians – victims of political oppression, who were forced to emigrate from their homeland to find a new place to live and work.
